Emkwen Orchards is a family-run apple orchard set in the highlands of Kenya. What began as a small planting has grown into rows of thriving apple trees, tended by hand through every season.
We believe in growing fruit the honest way — with patience, care for the land, and pride in every harvest. From blossom to basket, our apples are grown to be fresh, flavorful, and rooted in the place they come from.
We grow the Wambugu apple, a variety bred in Kenya to thrive well beyond the cool, high-altitude regions apples usually need. Hardier and more drought-tolerant than typical varieties, it fruits faster and adapts comfortably to our local climate and soil.
The result is an apple with a crisp bite and a naturally sweet-tart flavor — grown close to home, tended by hand from blossom through harvest.
